Model History[]
The Ambulance is an MBX Originals casting that debuted for the 2005 mainline. Though much more realistic than Matchbox's previous ambulance casting, Ambulance (2000), it is not based on any individual prototype. The casting has a number of MB679 and was originally produced from 2005 to 2010 when it was discontinued.
It returned in 2018 after a 8 year hiatus, albeit retooled for easier assembly. The box of the ambulance is now plastic instead of metal, while retaining the metal cab.
