Mazda Motor Corporation's history began in 1920 when it was founded in Hiroshima, Japan, as Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd., initially manufacturing cork before shifting to machinery.1 The company introduced its first vehicle, the "Mazda-Go" three-wheeled truck, in 1931 and officially changed its name to Mazda Motor Corporation in 1984.2 Known for its innovation, especially with the development of the unique Wankel rotary engine and the popular MX-5 Miata roadster, Mazda continues today to produce stylish and engaging vehicles.
