Professional Car is a term from the automotive industry, encompassing hearses, limousines, and car-based ambulances. Flower cars and first-call vehicles, if based off of cars (rather than vans or trucks) are also included, though Matchbox hasn't released models of these vehicles. Professional cars are based on civilian vehicles, but have longer wheelbases and body work. In the case of hearses and ambulances, the frame and body work forward of the A or B post (i.e. the engine compartment and perhaps the front of the cabin) are built by the car's manufacturer, with the rest of the body built by a second manufacturer. Limousines may by built in the same manner, built complete by the original manufacturer, or constructed by cutting a car in half and inserting additional body work (stretching).
