Trivia[]

  • The casting is based on the third generation GMC Topkick C6500, a medium duty variant of the C/K truck line produced from 2003 to 2009. Despite the casting being called a GMC 3500 by Matchbox, there is no real life Topkick truck based on a GMC 3500 as the Topkick was only offered as the C4500 to C8500 series of trucks. C4500 and C5500-series trucks were fitted with a lower-profile hood and smaller grille than the C6500-8500 series, which featured a relatively straight hoodline.
