The Globe Travelers was introduced in 2018, exclusively sold at Toys R Us retailers in the United States. It replaced the Best of Matchbox (2017) series. All models sport detailed front, side, and rear deco, with premium 2-piece wheels and tires. This would mark the last time Toys R Us would carry a premium Matchbox line, as they later filed for bankruptcy and shut down in 2018.
The line was succeeded by the 50th Anniversary Superfast (2019), and sold at all retailers.
