Model History[]
The Matchbox Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren debuted for the 2009 1-75 mainline. The model has a number of MB766 and was in production for 2009 before it was discontinued because Matchbox lost the Mercedes-Benz license. The casting returned in 2017 when the license was renewed.

- Before Mattel lost the Mercedes-Benz license in 2009, it was planned to see a blue SLR in a 2010 5-Pack.
- The MB SLR McLaren was the first Mercedes-Benz car produced by Mattel when the license was recovered in 2016.
