Notes[]
The King Size Mercede-Benz Binz Ambulance, like its 1-75 series counterpart (which it predates by a year), represents a Binz ambulance on a Mercedes-Benz chassis. The model features an opening rear hatch and opening front doors. A patient on a stretcher fit in the rear.
This was the first King Size model offered by Matchbox which was not a model of a truck or tractor, appearing as K-6 for 1967. When the King Size models were split into Super Kings and Speed Kings, the model was reassigned to slot K-26, to keep it with the other Speed Kings models. Speed Kings model numbers were rearranged again for 1977, and the Mercedes Benz Ambulance moved to slot K-63. For 1979 the model was catalogued as part of the Super Kings range.
