- Good question! I'm sure that normally that would be the case. But, in this instance, I notice that Matchbox themselves set the precedent for what it's name is by calling it the "1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible" on the poster they released showing the 2009 line of vehicles. They probably intend on using the full name more in the future. So, for now, let's just leave it like it is and see. It can always be changed later if it needs to be. Oh, and I wanted to comment on all those great pictures you just uploaded! Marvelous quality! I was going to upload one of this very car, but I hadn't gotten around to photographing it yet.
